Up the Line: Briagolong School of Fine Art
August 1 - August 28 2009
Briagolong School of Fine Art is an art cooperative with its own gallery operating in the central Gippsland town of Briagolong. This exhibition presents the work of 25 students who hail from Metung to Traralgon. During their training, Pat Waters, their mentor, encouraged each pupil to develop an individual style and personal artistic statement. Oil paintings, contemporary watercolours, prints, drawings, mixed media and works on paper demonstrate the diversity of mediums and techniques explored by the group. Subject matter ranges from landscape to still life, with an emphasis on the contemporary.
