Women of the World
Images of Women From the Cbus Collection of Australian Art
The Cbus Collection of Australian Art comprises more than three hundred artworks, dating from the mid 1800s to the present day. Cbus is the superannuation fund for the construction and building industry and represents hundreds of thousands of workers. The fund has been investing in Australian art since the late 1980s.
Women of the World presents a sumptuous range of portraits and studies of women from the Collection, including works by Sidney Nolan, Richard Larter, Arthur Boyd, John Brack, Juan Davila, George Baldessin and Janet Dawson. Evocative landscapes, mothers, dancers and everyday interiors form the backdrop to an investigation of women and reflect the diversity and challenges of representing the female form.
