Drawing Day
with Elisabeth Scott & Susan Purdy
Saturday 3 June
11am – 3pm
Workshop
Free, bookings advised
Open to people over the age of 18 years
Participants are invited to immerse themselves in an all-day drawing event.
Explore life drawing tutored by local artist, Elisabeth Scott and experience drawing of a different kind with artist, Susan Purdy.
A contemplative, meditative, approach to photography.
Susan Purdy will share her image making process; ideas on keeping an artists journal, collecting materials and making a camera-less images by laying objects on sensitised paper and exposing them to light.
If the sun is shining, she will lead a walk to gather plant materials and follow this with an opportunity for image making using the Cyanotype printing process in a practical workshop.
If the weather prevents sun-printing participants will explore still-life objects, and found or generated print material, using techniques such as drawing, rubbings and embossing, in creative combinations and compositions.
This is an opportunity for participants to make considered responses to the process and subject matter.
