Bec Cole – Director Creative Arts 

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, and I wish it had been under better circumstances. I’m the new Director of Latrobe Regional Gallery and Latrobe Performing Arts.

I joined Latrobe City in January this year, and have been delighted to find a strong and unique community of artists and arts enthusiasts. This is a place filled with possibilities for the arts and I am so excited to be here. 

These past few weeks have been challenging for my team, our community and for the arts as we’ve seen venues close, programs cancelled and many artists lose work.

At the Gallery we’ve had to rethink our entire program. We had planned for a program that invited interaction, participation and play. Now we need to take our program online and redesign what access and expression can look like when we can’t gather together.

At this time, it is so important to keep connected to the things that make life beautiful and inspiring – like art and ideas. Making and sharing. Participating and experiencing.

To help keep connected we are introducing LRG Online as a place where you can experience the Gallery from wherever you are. The LRG Team will build this space over time with access to exhibitions, our collections and an online education and public program.
