OPEN DAY: Finger Knitting

Saturday 2 October
2pm to 3pm

Please note: Latrobe Regional Gallery is closed due to the seven day circuit-breaker lockdown in Latrobe City to help stop the spread of  COVID-19. This activity on Saturday 2 October will be postponed to a future date.

The artist Mandy Gunn loves to use recycled materials and rubbish because they carry a history that becomes integrated into the artwork, deepening its meaning. In this Finger Knitting activity, kids will draw on a range of used materials such as burnt-out rubber inner tubes. Participants will experiment with cutting, knitting, and other weaving techniques, to create unusual forms such as Mandy Gunn’s Fireball (pictured above), made from finger knitted inner tubes.

Booking is required for this free event as spaces are limited. When booking, please advise LRG of any access requirements that you may have.

Class capacity: 10
Note: Tickets need only be booked for participating individuals. Supervising parents/guardians do no require a ticket.
