CONTEMPORARY WOMEN
Artworks from the Latrobe Regional Gallery Collection

7 March to 26 July 2020
Gallery 6

Highlighting local and national women artists from the permanent collection, this exhibition features artworks that have been made from materials or depict images and themes that signify both strength and fragility.

From sculptures knitted with VHS tape – suspended above their more durable cassette housing, through to prints of gas masks intertwined with native flora, a house built out of card and flowers forever preserved in silver; Contemporary Women celebrates the multifaceted role, abilities and interests of women in society.

Featuring: Rosalind Atkins with Ex De Medici, Anna Carey, Lesley Duxbury, Rosalie Gascoigne, Mandy Gunn, Fiona Hall, Treahna Hamm and Louiseann King.
